It’s not every day the Foreign Secretary stops by for a catch-up, but that’s exactly what happened at KWW today.
Dominic Raab, MP for Esher and Walton, took some time out from Westminster and global politics to check the pulse of local business life, and KWW was delighted to accept an invitation to share our views.
Speaking outside our office on Walton Road, KWW Partner and Head of Property Salv Sole told Mr Raab there were some encouraging signs of life returning to some degree of normality.
Salv said we were witnessing something of a boom in the housing market, with our conveyancers handling the heaviest workload they can ever remember thanks in part to the cut in Stamp Duty.
Salv asked Mr Raab to pass on his appreciation to his colleague Rishi Sunak, saying the Chancellor’s actions on Stamp Duty plus the furlough scheme had been a tremendous help.
Mr Raab said he had been heartened by the responses he had received from other businesses in Molesey and he praised KWW for doing “an amazing job” in continuing to offer services to clients during the lockdown. As a qualified solicitor himself, Mr Raab appreciated the essential nature of the work done by KWW, including drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney.
Mr Raab was also very supportive of KWW’s ‘Molesey Boost’ initiative which sees us donate a portion of our fees from new private client work to deserving local organisations and causes.
“A lof of local charities and clubs have been hit hard during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Salv Sole, “and this is our own little way of trying to help them back on their feet.”
